Who "we" are
"We", "us" and "the site" mean Whale Watching Canada, an independent editorial guide to whale watching in Canadian waters. Where these terms say "the publisher", they mean the publisher of this site, reachable at the address below. We are not a tour operator, a travel agency, a booking platform or a public authority, and we are not affiliated with any operator, park, marine park, ferry company or platform named on the site.
What the site is for
The site is published for general information and price comparison. It is not travel advice tailored to you, not a safety briefing, and not a substitute for what an operator or a public authority tells you. You are responsible for deciding whether a trip suits your health, your children, your schedule and the weather.
Prices, availability and bookings
Prices shown with a dollar sign come from our GetYourGuide feed in Canadian dollars and are checked regularly, but they are a snapshot: fares, availability, durations and cancellation terms change without notice, and the price at checkout is the one that counts. Figures attributed to an operator are what that operator published on its own site when we read it.
Every booking is a contract between you and GetYourGuide or the operator, on their terms — including payment, cancellation, refunds, insurance and what happens when a trip is cancelled for weather. We are not a party to it, we hold no money, and we cannot see, change or refund a booking.
No sighting is guaranteed. Where a trip is sold as guaranteed, the operator's own clause defines what you get, which is usually a free second trip rather than a refund.

On the water
Whale watching is an outdoor activity on cold water. Follow the crew's instructions, and read the approach rules before you go: Canada's Marine Mammal Regulations set minimum distances that apply to skippers, kayakers and passengers who film, and the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park is stricter again. We quote those rules and cite the authority, but the authority's own page prevails over ours.
Our content and your use of it
The text, tables, season strips and page structure are ours. You may quote a short passage with a link back and you may print a page for your own trip. Republishing pages, scraping the site, harvesting the price tables, or reusing the material to train or ground a model is not permitted without written consent.
Photographs and other material
Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons under their own licences, with author, licence and file link on the photo credits page; reuse them under those licences and not under ours. Operator names, logos and product titles belong to their owners and are used for identification only.
Accuracy and liability
We check what we publish and correct what we get wrong, but we cannot promise that every price, season, distance, fee or opening hour is current or complete. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for loss arising from use of the site or of any site we link to, including a trip that disappointed, was cancelled, or showed no whales. This does not limit any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute about them or about the site, are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which the publisher is established, and you agree that the courts of that province may hear the matter. Nothing here removes a consumer protection you hold under the law of the place where you live.
